Dear Friends:
It is with the deepest gratitude that I write to thank you for your support of the 2010 Providence House People of Hope Celebration. This year’s Celebration was a success as the event raised more than $252,000 from generous donors such as you. What a wonderful gift to the women and children served at Providence House as the proceeds will be allocated to help fund services and programs that will help our residents find a permanent place to live, get a job and pursue an education.
I want to express again my gratitude for our two very wonderful honorees, Barbara “Bobby” Blanchard and Brother Thomas Grady, OSF. Bobby is both a benefactor of Providence House and for many years was a close associate of our Foundress Sister Elaine, Roulet, CSJ as Director of The Children’s Center at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. Brother Tom vigorously advocated on behalf of Providence House during its infancy and was instrumental in helping Sister Elaine open the first Providence House residence in Brooklyn, New York. We are blessed to count them as friends.
As I shared during the evening, Providence House is very excited about the two new permanent supportive housing projects currently in progress. These will provide new avenues of hope and dignity to low-income families and individuals as well as people with special needs. Life changing projects such as these are possible because of your spirit of generosity that also enables the agency to continue providing the programs and services our residents need to get a new footing in life.
With deep gratitude,
Sister Janet Kinney, CSJ
