1. Facebook will give you the option to start a fundraiser for a nonprofit you care about on your birthday. Select the promotion in your feed to create a fundraiser to support Providence House!

2. Once you select the option to start a fundraiser, Facebook will give you several non-profits to choose from. Type “Providence House” into the search bar. Make sure to select Providence House located in Brooklyn, NY!

• If you do not see the prompt to start a birthday fundraiser, click Fundraisers on the left of your home page, then “Raise money.

3. Under “Let’s start with the basics,” enter:

• How much you want to raise

• The currency you want to donations to be in

• The date you want the fundraiser to end

Click next.

4. Under “Tell your story,” enter:

• A title for your fundraiser

• A brief explanation for why you wanted to create this fundraiser. There’s a sample description for your fundraiser created by Providence House if you can’t think of anything!

5. Under “Pick a cover photo,” choose one of the suggested photos, or upload your own by selecting the circle with the plus sign in the top right corner of the suggested photo.

Once you’ve selected your photo, click create.

6. A message will pop up that congratulates you on creating your fundraiser. From there, you can invite your friends to donate, share your fundraiser in your Feed, or donate to the fundraiser yourself.

Now you’re on track to raise money for a good cause!

Note: When you start a nonprofit fundraiser on Facebook, they cover all processing fees for donations. If you've blocked the Meta page, then you won't see the Meta donation on your fundraiser. The donation will still be made.
