Halloween Fun For Families
As the seasons change and holidays approach, stress can mount for our clients. Thankfully, with support from our donors, we are able to provide engaging an fun activities to help brighten spirts.
Providence House put on a Halloween bash for our residents. With the help of volunteers from Bank of America, we were able to transform our conference room into a spooky area complete with special games and activities, including face painting, bracelet making, pin the spider on the web, and toilet paper ghost bowling! ESKW volunteered a few of their members as staff, which helped us host over 30 mothers and children for Halloween festivities and community bonding. We'd like to thank all of the volunteers for their help in making this celebration possible, and all who have donated costumes; you helped put many smiles on many kids' faces!
At our program in New Rochelle, our staff hosted a beautiful Autumn celebration for mothers and children, complete with pictures taken at the pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, and a mommy potato sack race. Our New Rochelle site is home to 11 women with young children and our staff here does an amazing job building a sense of community amongst everyone. The small number of residents creates the feel of a close-knit family where mothers can learn parenting skills in a way that isn’t possible in a larger setting.
Our last Halloween celebration of the year took place at Glenmore, and it was the biggest one yet! Over 200 family members attended the party, and spooky spirits were at an all time high. Given that Glenmore is Providence House's largest program, we have to thank the superheroes that are our staff for bringing everyone together.
