Crafting ‘Home’ with Les Monarcas De Barro

We had the pleasure of partnering with the team from Les Monarcas De Barro to hold a visual arts pottery workshop at our Glenmore residence, encouraging participants to create their own personal concept of “home”. Les Monarcas implements a decolonizing approach to teaching ceramics in their workshops, which focuses on helping marginalized groups connect with their culture through the pottery artform. Incredibly heartfelt creations emerged from this workshop, along with smiles and new relationships formed within our community.

“Everyone here at Glenmore was so grateful for how this workshop went and to those who participated. The art workshops at Providence House have been such a great way to get residents to come together and connect.” - A Johnson, Child Development Coordinator

We at Providence House would like to thank the Les Monarcas team and celebrate such a beautiful display of personal art from our residents. Special thanks to Providence House Board Member, Ralphetta Johnson-Moses for introducing us to this amazing organization.
