Creativity, Connection, and Craft: Jewelry Making Workshop at our Women’s Justice Program
At Providence House, we recognize the transformative power of creativity—how it fosters healing, builds confidence, and strengthens community. As part of our commitment to offering enriching Creative Arts Therapy services, our expanded Women's Justice Program recently hosted a special jewelry-making workshop for its multiple residences.
This workshop was led by Saije, founder of Uniquely Seven, an upcycled jewelry business dedicated to turning old or broken pieces into something new and beautiful. Saije reached out to our program with the desire to share her skills and passion, guiding our residents in creating their own unique jewelry pieces.
With the support of Olivia Porter, our Creative Arts Therapist, the workshop provided an inviting space for residents to express themselves, learn new skills, and connect with one another. Using charms, fabric, letters, and vibrant colors, the women designed pieces that reflected their personal style and creativity. Many of the women opted to elevate their own names with flair, or to decorate specific words with heartfelt meaning. This hands-on experience allowed for the spirit of accomplishment and joy to fill our community room.
"It was fun and relaxing! She [Saije] was very good," shared K, one of our residents, highlighting the workshop’s warm and encouraging atmosphere.
Through every carefully selected bead and every thoughtfully designed bracelet, the women weren’t just crafting accessories—they were embracing self-expression, displaying confidence, and experiencing the fulfillment of creating something beautiful. These moments of creativity and connection reinforce our dedication to providing meaningful opportunities for growth and empowerment.
